"You know the face. You've seen the performances. Now learn from the actor...

Prosky discusses his success in making a living as an actor in a talk entitled,
 "An Actor's Dialogue."
A question and answer segment is available at end of discussion.

If you're thinking about Robert Prosky as a speaker for your group
(small, medium, large or even one-on-one conversation), hold onto that thought.

Some people talk about what they've heard others say, or what they've read or seen on TV
or at the movies or even imagined in their dream lives - but Prosky has actually lived what he talks about;
his life as an American actor has included over 200 roles on stage and in film!
He's known for his work in all media and he knows how to share his experiences in person
in a most delightful way, and with visuals as well.

Prosky is an original all the way. I've known him, worked with him, and appauded him since he was 29
and came to work with our acting company at Arena Stage in Washington DC,
one of the three premier resident theaters in America...Others have appauded him all over the world on stage and in film.
I wasn't always there in the audience, but I was there in the early seventies when we were the first American company
to play in the then Soviet Union. They applauded, stomped and cheered, threw flowers onto the stage in Moscow and Leningrad,
and Prosky led the applause and cheering that the company gave back to the audience.
He will probably share a photo of that magical time on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater
when Bob and the company introduced American Theater to the Russians.

On a personal note: My two peak experiences as a stage director centered around Robert Prosky.
Working with him to bring life to Willie Loman in "A Death of a Salesman" -
a performance Arthur Miller came to see and said was "unforgettable,"
and the recent Jacob, the grandfather in Clifford Odet's "Awake and Sing" -
how complex, how simple, how amazing he was. Those were for me the creative adventures of the highest kind.
I could hope for nothing more fulfilling.

If you can get him to come to you and speak, don't let him get away.
